| Glucose is so essential for life that a whole system works to maintain its level. Insulin is secreted to move the blood glucose into muscle and liver after meal and blood glucose level become high. Liver has enzyme to take glucose and make it into glycogen for storage. When blood glucose level gets lower, glycogen breaks down by another enzyme to release glucose into blood stream.
